Hostess Cashier (New Italian Restaurant)

Job Summary
Bella Mia Café, a brand‑new Italian‑style restaurant, is hiring Hostesses / Cashiers to join our opening front‑of‑house team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for greeting patrons, managing reservations, and handling cashier duties. We’re looking for friendly, organized individuals who enjoy greeting guests and creating a warm first impression.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating arrangements to optimize table turnover
• Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information and taking reservations as needed
• Manage guest waitlists and communicate wait times effectively
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for processing orders and payments
• Handle cashier duties accurately, including cash handling, credit card transactions, and issuing receipts
• Assist with guest inquiries and provide exceptional guest services to ensure a memorable experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
• Collaborate with restaurant staff to coordinate seating flow and guest needs

Requirements

• Previous host/host experience or food service background preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality
• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
• Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Hospitality or hotel experience is advantageous but not required
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed
