Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Expo to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth seating process. This role is vital in creating a positive guest experience through excellent customer service, effective communication, and efficient coordination with the restaurant team. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, but a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills are essential. The Host/Expo will work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to uphold our high standards of guest relations and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait lists efficiently
• Escort guests to their tables, ensuring comfort and satisfaction
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service staff regarding guest needs and table status
• Handle guest inquiries politely via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
• Assist with guest seating flow during busy periods to optimize table turnover
• Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in all areas of the host station

Skills

• Previous Host/Hostess experience or food service background preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Experience in hospitality, restaurant, or hotel environments is advantageous
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Professional phone etiquette and guest relations skills
• Friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and teamwork orientation
