Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Expo to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth flow of service. This role is essential in creating a positive guest experience by providing excellent customer service, managing reservations, and supporting the front-of-house operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Prior experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a passion for guest relations.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait times efficiently
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely service
• Handle guest inquiries courteously via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
• Assist with guest seating adjustments during busy periods to optimize flow
• Support serving staff by providing timely updates on table status and guest needs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
• Uphold high standards of hospitality and guest services at all times

Qualifications

• Previous host/host experience or background in food service preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, guest relations, and hospitality best practices
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor with good phone etiquette
• Prior hotel or guest services experience is advantageous but not required
