Job Description:

Iron Horse Bar and Grill is searching for a personable and organized Host/Hostess to serve as the first point of contact for our guests. Located in the heart of Leawood, KS, we’re looking for someone who excels in a fast-moving environment and enjoys setting the tone for an outstanding dining experience from the moment guests arrive.

Responsibilities:

• Guest Interaction: Welcome each guest with friendliness and professionalism, ensuring they feel valued and at ease right away.
• Seating Management: Guide guests to their tables efficiently while balancing seating flow, server sections, and rotation.
• Awareness of Floor Layout: Stay informed on table availability and the overall dining room setup to optimize efficiency and reduce wait times.
• Clean & Inviting Entrance: Maintain a neat, organized, and welcoming host stand and entry area at all times.
• Team Coordination: Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff about seating updates, guest preferences, and timing.
• Menu Knowledge: Assist guests with menu questions, highlight specials and promotions, and accommodate special requests when possible.
• Reservation Management: Handle reservations with accuracy, ensuring parties are seated promptly and according to schedule.
• Composure Under Pressure: Manage multiple tasks during busy periods while maintaining a calm, upbeat attitude.
• Guest Support: Address any guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with staff across all areas to deliver smooth, high-quality service.

Requirements:

• Warm, outgoing, and professional demeanor
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior experience in a restaurant or customer service role is a plus
