Host/Hostess

East Missouri Action Agency is looking for a warm, friendly and dependable Host/Hostess to join our team at the Farmington Senior Center. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with older adults, creating a welcoming environment and supporting daily meal service. You'll help ensure the center runs smoothly while making a positive difference in the lives of our senior community members.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting and assisting seniors, helping create a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere
• Support daily meal preparation, including light food and beverage prep
• Assisting the cook with kitchen tasks, organization, cleanup and leading a team of volunteers in the dining room
• Setting up the dining area and ensuring meal service runs efficiently
• Maintaining cleanliness in dining and kitchen areas, following safety and sanitation guidelines
• Providing friendly, patient customer service to all center participants
• Helping with activity setup, decorating, making announcements and general support as needed

Qualifications:

• Friendly, patient and respectful demeanor
• Experience working with seniors or in food service is helpful (not required)
• Ability to stand for periods of time and perform light lifting (up to 35lbs)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable and punctual
• 18 years or older

Starting pay for this position is $15.00/hour. The following benefits are included for part-time workers with a regular schedule of 20 hours or more per week:
