Host / Hostess – Restaurant & Hotel Dining
The Northport Hotel is seeking friendly, professional, and hospitality-driven Hosts/Hostesses to join our team. This is an entry-level position with growth potential, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Previous restaurant experience is required.
As the first and last impression of our restaurant, our hosts play an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming, and organized guest experience while maintaining the high standards of service our guests have come to expect.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Manage reservations and wait lists using OpenTable
- Escort guests to their tables and provide accurate wait times
- Answer phones professionally and assist guests with reservations and inquiries
- Communicate effectively with managers and service staff to ensure smooth table flow
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
- Help accommodate guest requests while maintaining restaurant standards and reservation policies
- Maintain a polished appearance, positive attitude, and professional demeanor at all times
- Support the team with additional front-of-house duties as needed
- Provide exceptional hospitality and guest service in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Friendly, outgoing, and team-oriented personality
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Experience with OpenTable is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate
