Duties

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor, establishing a positive first impression
• Manage restaurant reservation systems and coordinate seating to optimize flow and reduce wait times
• Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant policies
• Assist guests with seating arrangements, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all patrons
• Support food service staff by communicating guest needs efficiently and maintaining smooth guest relations
• Uphold food safety standards by following proper hygiene and cleanliness protocols in the host station

Experience

• Prior experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a customer-focused attitude are essential
• Strong communication skills, including clear phone communication and effective guest interaction, are vital to success in this role
• Basic math skills are necessary for managing reservations, tables, and guest billing when needed
• Previous food service experience enhances your ability to understand restaurant operations and guest expectations
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest inquiries simultaneously
• Knowledge of hospitality standards, guest services best practices, and food safety regulations will support your success in creating memorable guest experiences
