Host/Hostess – Fast-Paced Restaurant (FOH)

Restaurant Host (Guest Experience Team)

We’re looking for people who enjoy staying active, working with a team, and helping create a smooth experience for every guest. This role is best suited for someone who is dependable, communicates well, and takes pride in keeping things organized during busy shifts.

If you prefer a slow-paced environment or a role where you can stand around waiting for tasks, this position likely won’t be the right fit. Our team members stay engaged, support each other, and help keep the dining room running efficiently.

What the Role Looks Like

A typical shift begins at the host stand, greeting arriving guests and coordinating table seating. Hosts manage the pace of the dining room by assigning tables, monitoring reservations, and keeping wait-lists updated.

Throughout service, hosts stay in communication with servers and the kitchen to ensure tables are turned efficiently and guests are taken care of. During busy periods, hosts may also assist by running food, delivering drinks, or helping reset tables so the next guests can be seated quickly.

This position also helps maintain the appearance of the front-of-house area. The host stand, entryway, and surrounding dining areas should remain clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the shift.

Responsibilities During Service

  • Welcome guests and manage the seating process
  • Maintain an organized wait-list and provide accurate wait-time estimates
  • Coordinate with servers and managers to manage table flow
  • Answer phone calls and assist with reservations or guest questions
  • Support servers by running food or beverages when needed
  • Help reset and prepare tables for incoming guests
  • Keep the entry area, host stand, and dining room presentable
  • Maintain a friendly and professional atmosphere for guests and coworkers

What Helps Someone Succeed in This Role

  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to stay calm and organized during busy service periods
  • A team-oriented mindset and willingness to jump in where needed
  • Professional phone etiquette
  • A positive and welcoming attitude toward guests

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is helpful but not required. We are happy to train motivated individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.
