Hostess/Host Requirements:

• We are looking for a host/hostess part-time to work on the weekdays, weekends, and special event days.
• Have a minimum of 6 months experience in an upscale restaurant preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be passionate about providing an excellent and exceptional guest experience
• Must have the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, have a calm and professional demeanor
• A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
• Flexible schedule required, shifts can include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be a team player

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for greeting and seating guests while coordinating with guest reservations and responding to inquires in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to maximize guest experience

Speak clearly and be professional in answering telephones

Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate their needs, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests

Set up host/hostess stand, daily review of reservations, and make recommendations regarding set-up of the room while maximizing workload capacity of each server

Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting.

Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance, and have a complete working knowledge of all menu items

Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures

Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests

May assist servers with table maintenance, ensuring tables are marked correctly with utensils and glassware in a timely manner, complete side work and other tasks given by manager

Adhere to current local, CDC, and company guidelines in preventing the spread of Coronavirus

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets
