Host/Hostess - NAOS Hellenic Cuisine

NAOS Hellenic Cuisine, Giorgios Hospitality Group's newest fine dining Greek concept in Cary, is looking for hosts to join our growing team!

We are seeking candidates who are hardworking, punctual, dependable, and a team player. The right candidate must have a passion for service, take pride in their work, have a high attention for detail, and the ability to multi-task. Applicants must be proficient in English.

As a host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests. Host responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times and escorting customers to the dining areas. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food offerings
  • Responsible for taking reservations using the online reservations system in OpenTable
  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
  • Maintain flow of OpenTable reservations and walk-in seatings based on guest preferences and balancing of volume for each server team
  • Work with service team to store and maintain to-go food for seated guests, as needed
  • Between seatings, assist service team to clean table tops and chairs for immediate seating needs, as needed
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
  • Utilize the Point of Sale System for to-go orders
  • Act as a liaison between the kitchen and dining room communicating guest information, open menu counts, VIP guests, and known dietary restrictions
  • Prepare special occasion cards when necessary
  • Answer telephone and provide general information to guests
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor

Requirements

  • Previous work experience as a restaurant host or server (Recommended)
  • Understanding of restaurant etiquette
  • Experience in managing reservations
  • Demonstrable customer-service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
  • Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
