Host/Reservationist

Position Summary

The Reservationist at Craig’s Nashville plays a crucial role in setting the tone for every guest visit. This role requires professionalism, warmth, and exceptional communication skills over the phone, via email, and through our reservation system. Reservationists help build loyalty and trust from the very first interaction by treating every inquiry with care, accuracy, and gracious attention. Whether accommodating a celebrity guest or a first-time visitor, we treat every reservation with importance.

Key Responsibilities

· Answer all phone calls promptly and with professionalism, warmth, and clarity.

· Alert management if there is an issue that will affect flow of evening.

· Book and manage reservations using OpenTable in accordance with restaurant pacing and floor plan strategy.

· Confirm reservations, manage large party inquiries, and handle all guest communication in a timely and accurate manner.

· Coordinate with Front Desk and Management team to ensure guest preferences and notes are communicated clearly.

· Maintain a calm, collected tone and problem-solve with poise during high-volume hours.

· Protect the integrity of the dining room by enforcing reservation policies with courtesy and professionalism.

· Take and package to-go orders.

Qualifications & Experience

· Previous experience in a reservationist or administrative role at a high-volume restaurant preferred.

· Strong knowledge of OpenTable or comparable reservation platforms.

· Clear, polished phone presence and excellent written communication skills.

· Discretion, professionalism, and grace under pressure.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

· Primarily seated administrative role with occasional movement required.

· Work involves phone, computer, and guest-facing communication in a fast-paced setting.

· Able to lift 50 lbs.

· Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.

· Collaborative with front desk and management team, but independently responsible for reservation oversight.

The Host at Craig’s Nashville is the first and last impression for every guest who walks through our doors. This role requires a gracious, attentive, and polished presence, as well as the ability to manage guest flow with confidence and care. Hosts are stewards of the guest experience — warmly welcoming every individual, communicating effectively with the service team, and maintaining poise even during the busiest moments. The role is equal parts hospitality and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

· Warmly greet and escort guests to their tables using guest names whenever possible.

· Manage reservations and walk-ins using OpenTable with accuracy and discretion.

· Maintain the flow of the dining room by coordinating seatings with the service team.

· Track quote times, monitor pacing, and update guests on wait times with warmth and professionalism.

· Assist with coat check, door greetings, and other front-of-house tasks as needed.

· Keep host always stand and entrance area immaculate.

Qualifications & Experience

· Previous experience as a host or front desk team member in upscale or high-volume restaurants preferred.

· Familiarity with OpenTable or similar reservation systems strongly preferred.

· Excellent communication skills and calm decision-making under pressure.

· Polished, professional demeanor with genuine warmth and confidence.

· Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

· Able to lift 50 lbs.
