Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems
  • Escort guests to their tables, ensuring comfort and satisfaction from the moment they arrive
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders with clear communication to kitchen staff and bartenders
  • Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of hospitality and guest relations
  • Handle guest inquiries with professionalism, providing information about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area throughout shifts
  • Assist in managing wait-lists during busy periods, ensuring smooth flow of seating arrangements
  • Process payments accurately using POS systems, including handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods
  • Uphold excellent phone etiquette when taking reservations or answering guest questions remotely
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction
  • Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally to enhance overall experience

Qualifications

  • Previous host/host experience or food service background preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and genuine friendliness
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems is a plus
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
  • Professional phone etiquette skills for reservation handling and guest inquiries
  • Knowledge of serving procedures and hospitality standards preferred but not mandatory
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods during shifts
