Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently using reservation systems such as OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Seat guests promptly, ensuring optimal table assignments that enhance their dining experience.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure smooth transactions.
- Serve food and drinks with professionalism, upselling menu items to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including bussing tables and assisting in food handling when necessary.
- Support kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation or replenishing supplies during busy periods.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, perform basic math calculations for bills, and process payments efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and fostering positive guest relations.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment by adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines in accordance with food industry standards.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Host/Hostess, Server, Bartender, or in a similar food service role within a restaurant or nightlife environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for reservations and transactions.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to increase sales while providing genuine recommendations.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar stations efficiently during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and bill calculations; cashiering experience is a plus.
- Culinary or kitchen experience is advantageous for understanding food preparation and service flow.
- Experience working in fine dining establishments or nightclubs is preferred for creating upscale guest experiences.
