About Us:
Friends House Café is a retro-themed, cozy restaurant offering authentic Japanese cuisine, sushi, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. In addition to sushi and snacks, we serve hearty Japanese-style hot meals and homemade-style desserts, making us a unique culinary destination in Bahrain.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve hot dishes such as gyoza (dumplings), rice bowls, soups (from frozen), and other items from the hot kitchen section according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Operate steamers, fryers, rice cookers, and other kitchen equipment correctly and safely.
• Ensure proper handling, defrosting, and reheating of frozen soups and meals to preserve flavor and texture.
• Plate dishes neatly and consistently with attention to portion control and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the hot kitchen throughout the shift.
• Monitor inventory levels of hot kitchen ingredients (dumplings, sauces, rice, toppings, etc.) and report shortages for timely restocking.
• Follow food safety regulations and hygiene best practices at all times.
• Collaborate with the café team to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
• Support during special events and peak hours with flexibility and teamwork.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a hot kitchen, ideally in an Asian or Japanese restaurant setting.
• Ability to work with pre-prepared or frozen items while maintaining consistent taste and quality.
• Familiarity with common kitchen appliances and tools used in preparing rice, soups, and dumplings.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
• Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and efficiency under pressure.

Preferred Candidate:

• Experience with Japanese or Asian-style hot dishes (even from frozen or semi-prepped bases).
• Responsible, punctual, and able to follow kitchen procedures accurately.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the café’s unique culinary concept.
• Basic English communication skills.

Pay: BD150.000 - BD250.000 per month
