Core Responsibilities:
- Uphold and embody the company's core values and mission.
- Regularly conduct preventative maintenance across guest rooms, common areas, event spaces, dining venues, and lounges.
- Execute tasks designated by the Chief Engineer or hotel leadership, addressing issues identified through work orders.
- Comply with all company-wide and department-specific procedures and policies, as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Prioritize workplace cleanliness and safety.
- Promptly address emergencies and uncommon situations.
- Support the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of all equipment and property.
- Commit to safety by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Escalate significant repair needs to the Director of Engineering.
- Accurately identify and report the source and location of fire alarms, liaising with management and front desk staff.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work attitude.
- Undertake minor repair tasks and scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
- Ready equipment for the next workday.
- Oversee the functionality of equipment and systems, conducting minor fixes to guarantee optimal efficiency.
- Restore and refresh guest room furniture and fixtures. If required, paint and finish these items.
- Keep entrances, parking spaces, and street-facing areas tidy and welcoming.
- Safeguard and enhance the facility's external appearance, including the pool, sports amenities, signs, and lighting.
- Ensure the security of inventory and resources, manage supplies effectively, and aim for minimal wastage.
- Conduct safety checks monthly, reporting any concerns or defective equipment to superiors.
- Provide guests with prompt and polite assistance, aiming for exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Foster inter-departmental teamwork and service quality through daily interactions.
- Handle other relevant tasks as directed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and 1+ year of general building maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or vocational training is advantageous.
- Proficiency in maintenance troubleshooting.
- Capabilities in painting, HVAC, and using various equipment and tools.
- Experience overseeing utility systems and prior work in hotels or related sectors is a plus.
- Relevant trade certifications are beneficial.
- Physical requisites include carrying or moving items weighing 100-300 pounds, frequent mobility around the facility, and handling equipment.
- Fundamental knowledge in plumbing, electrical systems, maintenance procedures, and equipment/tool handling.
- Effective communication skills, especially with colleagues and guests.
- Documenting tasks, managing supplies, and understanding repair manuals require reading and writing proficiency.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities.
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
