JOB TITLE:
UW Libraries/English Department Graduate Intern
JOB PURPOSE:
The University Libraries and the English Department seek applicants for a part-time graduate internship, in addition to your graduate assistantship, in the Libraries’ Research & Outreach Services unit for the 2026-2027 academic year. The intern will work with ROS librarians and staff to offer educational and student success resources for undergraduate and graduate students. The intern will additionally work with the Graduate Research & Engagement Librarian to support the Pathways from Prison program and incarcerated UW students.
This position reports to the chair of Research & Instruction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design learning resources in support of international and nontraditional students at UW.
Participate in the development of lesson plans and learning objects such as asynchronous instructional videos and tutorials.
Lead or co-lead supplemental workshops and activities for students (e.g., intro to UW Libraries for international students, wellness events).
Create marketing materials and/or social media posts (such as Instagram, TikTok, and UW Libraries’ blog) about relevant topics for different levels of researchers.
Support the Pathways from Prison Librarian in finding and sharing UW Libraries resources with incarcerated UW students.
Support special projects under the purview of the Graduate Research and Engagement Librarian.
WORK LOCATION:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current enrollment in the UW English M.A. or M.F.A. program
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Interest in supporting undergraduate student learning
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with library research and library resources
Experience teaching and/or training
