Position Description…

This position is part time (5-8 hours/week, with potential for increase in hours). The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional nursing services to a diverse population of children, caregivers, and families. The Rainbow Project RN provides culturally-sensitive services to consumers while working closely with The Rainbow Project clinical team, including the Clinical Manager, clinicians, psychiatrist, and multi-disciplinary teams, to coordinate and deliver psychiatry services (including prescription of psychotropic medications) that are strength based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive.

Hours/Schedule: Part-time position (5-8 hours/week). Work will generally be completed between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and may require some nights and weekends.

Qualifications…

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
• Current Wisconsin state license/certification as a Registered Nurse
• Adaptable
• Ability to provide telehealth and in-person services to Rainbow Project psychiatry clients
• Position may require travel, so valid driver’s license, positive driving record & adequate car insurance are required
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Establishes & holds healthy boundaries
• Ability to pass required background check
• Active contributor to a positive work environment

Responsibilities…

• Participate in organization’s orientation process
• Attend Clinical Staffings and other meetings, as required
• Complete and maintain timely, required records and data in the organization’s electronic medical record system and agency database
• Team with other part-time nurse to deliver professional, dependable care to all psychiatry patients
• Follow up with consumers, monitoring psychotropic medications, refills, and emergency calls, in coordination with clinicians & supervising psychiatrists
• First in process routing messages to physician, if there is a need for hospitalization
• Triage calls and messages, assessments, and common challenges
