** URGENTLY HIRING FOR HOUSE OFFICER/RESIDENT MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Qualification- BHMS/BAMS
Experience - Minimum - 2 to 5 years of experience
Shift- Evening shift - 2.30 pm to 10.30 pm
ACTIVITIES AFTER RESUMING DUTY:
● Taking detail over from previous Medical Assistant – bed to bed over and through communication book, if required.
● Taking rounds of all the patients in the ward and checking their vitals at least once personally when on duty.
● Writing rounds in the IPD paper is must (Non-negotiable).
● To be present for Rounds with Consultants
● Making the changes in the orders as advised by the Primary Consultant and communication of the same to the Staff Nurse on duty.
● If any advised by the Referral Consultant, then it must be communicated to the Primary Consultant and then the orders must be followed.
● Filling up of the Investigation Form and explaining the investigation, taking appointments for the particular investigation and writing the medicine prescription must be done in coordination with Clinical Assistant/Junior Consultant in fresh order sheet, which shall be counter signed by the primary consultant.
● Writing the investigation results in the investigation flow sheet in the IPD file (evening on duty Medical Assistant).
● Inform the Consultants about the investigation reports and then carry out further orders.
NOTIFICATION OF NOTIFIABLE DISEASES:
The notification of notifiable diseases to be made in the prescribed format to Medical Admin with regards to the following:
● Diseases like Dengue, Leptospirosis, Malaria, Hepatitis, Typhoid, Polio, Tuberculosis, Measles, Influenza, Rabies, HIV / AIDS, etc.
● MBMC notification of diseases form is available in each Ward and should be filled completely.
● Along with the duplicate copy of the form and xerox copy of the positive report must be sent to Medical Admin via housekeeping attendant.
● Responsibility of filling up of the form is of Medical Assistant and the coordination of the activity and sending it to Medical Admin is done by Staff Nurse.
● Sharing the relevant information of patients with nursing and housekeeping department in the afternoon huddle with all concerned for better patient care.
NEW ADMISSION:
As the new admission comes in the ward –
● 1st Medical Assistant should take the detail history of the patient and then examine the patient fully both general and systemic examination.
● Writing the same on the history paper of the IPD File (mandatory).
● History should be taken directly from patient or from the person who is aware about the problems of the patient.
● Inform the Primary Consultant about the patient by narrating the full history of the patient on phone and note down on the IPD papers.
● To carry out the verbal orders by the Consultant by communicating it to the staff nurse and start with the preliminary treatment with investigation as advised.
● Communication with the relations of the patient about the patient’s condition and prognosis of the disease.
● If the new admission is Corporate Patient, then with the help of the Consultant, fill up the data in the ESTIMATE FORM like diagnosis, ALOS, tentative medicinal expenses and investigation expenses. Then along with the form, guide the patient to Senior Billing Officer on the ground floor.
● For all new TPA patients, the activity must be coordinated by Assistant Medical Officer / Medical Officer and Customer Relation Officer.
● Any references from Primary Consultant must be informed to the respective Consultant and must be noted down on the IPD papers.
ON DISCHARGE:
● From the Consultant 24 hours in advance, next day discharge must be communicated to the staff nurse on duty.
● On discharge, Medical Assistant must remind the Consultant to write or give the clinical summary of the patient verbally.
● On discharge, Medical Assistant will give the computerized discharge card to all patients (24*7).
● Clinical assistant will be putting final medicine prescription on discharge to all corporate patients and this order will be followed by Medical Assistant with complete dosage and power of the medicine which will be further indented by nurses online.
● During the physical discharge Medical Assistant must be with patient for the final goodbye and any special advice to give, if required.
● On the Discharge Card Medical Assistant will take the written acknowledgement from the patient’s relation in a muster.
