House Person

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The house person is responsible for ensuring cleanliness and orderliness is maintained at all times and in all areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Greeting guests and communicating in a friendly, courteous, and professional way

· Ensuring that all premises are clean and tidy at all times

· Preparing guest rooms and meeting rooms

· Cleaning the lobby and public bathrooms

· Sort linens for washer

· Remove stains from badly soiled linen

· Dispose of linen and terry properly

· Operate washers and dryers properly as well as ensuring that the correct chemicals (and amounts) are being used.

· Replacing stocks of guest supplies

· Bringing complaints, problems, and queries to the attention of the immediate supervisor

· Responsible for general cleanliness of the hotel both public spaces and guest rooms.

· Assist with deliveries

· Moving furniture as needed

· Other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

· Ensuring all departmental service standards are upheld

· Ensuring guest satisfaction

· Ensuring that the entire hotel maintains a clean and orderly appearance

· Assisting bell staff, front desk staff, and room attendants when necessary

· Visually inspecting common areas, including the lobby and hallways, to ensure cleanliness and organization

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge:

· Knowledge of appropriate standards

Skills:

· High level of attention to detail

· Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate in English

· Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments

· Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork

Physical:

· The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

· The position may need to push/pull up to 100 pounds.

· The employee must be able to move throughout the property with ease.

Other:

· Possess a gracious, friendly, and caring demeanor
