Household Manager & Family Assistant

Schedule: Monday–Friday starting at 4:00 PM, typically 2–4 hours per day depending on household needs and tasks. Occasional additional hours may be available based on mutual fit and availability.

Compensation: $28–$30/hour, depending on experience and fit

We are a household of two busy, warm, high-functioning families (with 4 adults and a total of 3 young children) looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Household Manager & Family Assistant to help our home run smoothly.

This role is part household operations, part meal prep, and part family support. We’re looking for someone who naturally notices what needs attention, takes ownership, and enjoys creating order and calm in a dynamic household environment.

The right person is dependable, highly organized, comfortable around children, enjoys healthy cooking, and communicates clearly. You should be the kind of person who sees that we’re low on eggs, paper towels, or kids’ lunch items and simply takes initiative to solve the problem.

What You’ll Do

Household Operations

• Keep the household organized, stocked, and running smoothly
• Notice when supplies or groceries are running low and proactively restock
• Coordinate light household errands (dry cleaning, returns, grocery pickups, etc.)
• Place household orders (Amazon or local stores) with quick approval when needed
• Track household purchases and expenses

Kitchen & Meal Prep

• Prepare healthy meals and snacks for adults and children
• Prep kids’ lunches and simple breakfast items
• Help cook dinner on scheduled evenings
• Keep healthy grab-and-go food options available
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and reset common spaces before leaving

Laundry & Home Care

• Laundry - washing, folding, organizing, and putting clothing away for all household members
• Help maintain tidy, calm, functional living spaces
• Daily light housekeeping includes: kitchen resets, wiping counters and surfaces, vacuuming, trash removal, tidying common areas, and maintaining overall household organization

Family Support

• Help support the flow of a busy two-family household
• Adapt to changing priorities with flexibility and a positive attitude
• Communicate proactively about timing, schedule changes, or household needs

Big Plus If You Have

• Prior experience as a family assistant, household manager, nanny/family assistant, executive assistant, or estate assistant
• Experience supporting a busy household with multiple priorities
• Strong organizational systems and habits
• Confidence making reasonable household purchases and recommendations
• Comfort helping with occasional childcare (e.g., supervising play, helping with meals, bedtime support, or watching children for short periods when needed)

Bonus: While this is not a nanny role, comfort helping with occasional childcare is a meaningful plus. We’d love someone who enjoys being around kids and is happy to jump in when helpful.
