Household Manager/Personal Assistant

Household/Family Assistant — Coppell, TX Part-Time | Mon–Fri | 20 hrs/week minimum | Core Hours 7am–11am | Occasional Weekends

We are a busy dual-income family in Coppell with a 2-year-old and a newborn on the way. We're looking for a warm, trustworthy, and self-directed Household/Family Assistant to keep our home running smoothly so that when we come home, we can focus entirely on our kids — not on chores and logistics.

This is not a nanny role. Our toddler attends daycare. We have bi-weekly professional cleaners. We need someone to own the daily operations of our household.

Schedule & Hours

Core hours are Monday–Friday, 7am–11am (20 hours/week minimum). As our household needs grow — especially with a newborn arriving — hours may extend beyond 11am on some days. We are flexible and will always communicate schedule needs 1–2 weeks in advance.

One thing that makes this role a little different: we value schedule flexibility in both directions. On some weeks we may ask you to swap a morning shift for an evening shift (not both), and on occasion we may need both a morning and an evening on the same day. These are not surprises — we commit to giving you advance notice and will always work around conflicts that you flag ahead of time. We are also flexible with working around your commitments if there are certain days / times you have other obligations.

If expanded hours become a regular pattern rather than occasional, we are open to discussing an adjusted hourly rate that reflects the increased commitment. This is a two-way relationship and we want it to work for you too.

Occasional Saturdays or Sundays may be requested with advance notice and mutual agreement.

Your Mornings Will Look Like This

7:00–8:00am — Family Launch

  • Help our 2-year-old get dressed and ready for the day
  • Daycare drop-off

8:00am–11:00am — Home Operations

Kitchen Reset (daily):

  • Clean any dishes left from the night before
  • Load the dishwasher and run it; unload once the cycle is complete
  • Wipe down countertops and do a light sweep of the kitchen floor for crumbs
  • Take out the trash as needed
  • With a newborn in the home: washing and sanitizing bottles and breast pump parts will be a regular and important part of the kitchen routine

Throughout the Morning:

  • Laundry for the whole family — wash, dry, fold, and put away
  • Light tidying — toys, clothes, and common areas
  • Errands: grocery pickup, dry cleaning drop-off/pickup, car through the car wash, etc.
  • Cook dinner — we are fine with simple recipes, slow cooker meals, oven-ready dishes. We'll build a rotation together that works for everyone.

When Evenings Are Needed

On days where an evening shift is requested (in place of or in addition to mornings):

  • Help get dinner on the table or finish what was prepped
  • Clean up after dinner
  • Help with toddler bath time
  • General tidy-up before the house winds down for the night

What We're Looking For

  • Someone who sees what needs to be done and does it — no micromanaging
  • Warm and at ease around a toddler and newborn (not responsible for primary childcare)
  • Honest, reliable, and communicates proactively — especially if something comes up
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule when given adequate notice
  • A self-starter who takes pride in a well-run home

Requirements

  • Valid TX driver's license and clean driving record (required — driving is central to this role)
  • Must pass a background check and provide 2–3 verifiable references
  • Cooking ability a strong plus — doesn't need to be a chef, just capable and willing
  • Comfortable with infant-related tasks (bottle washing, basic support)
  • Paid trial week before full commitment

Compensation: $18–$22/hr depending on experience | Paid weekly Hours and rate are open to discussion as the role evolves

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

Work Location: In person
