Housekeeper

Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning guest suites and public areas of The Mantissa Hotel to the highest standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining a comfortable, welcoming, and immaculately clean environment. Housekeepers are expected to follow all company policies and procedures, uphold health and safety protocols, and communicate effectively with the hotel’s leadership and fellow team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean guest suites daily, including bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and living areas according to property standards
• Make beds, dust furniture, vacuum floors, mop surfaces, remove trash, and restock towels, amenities, and supplies
• Clean and maintain public areas including hallways, stairwells, elevators, entryways, rooftop lounge restrooms, and outdoor walkways
• Notify management or senior housekeeping staff of any maintenance issues or needed repairs observed while cleaning
• Handle guest requests and lost & found items in accordance with hotel policy
• Maintain and organize housekeeping carts, supply closets, and storage areas
• Follow proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and protective gear
• Report safety hazards or suspicious activity promptly to management
• Perform deep cleaning tasks on a rotating basis, including windows, walls, upholstery, vents, and behind furniture
• Follow the daily room assignment sheet and complete tasks within assigned timeframes

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior housekeeping or custodial experience preferred, especially in hotel or hospitality settings
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Ability to climb stairs and carry cleaning supplies between floors Must demonstrate good time management, attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Must maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform and grooming standards Weekend and holiday availability required
