Housekeeper (Inn Associate)

The Brass Lantern Inn, a 9 bedroom, family owned bed and breakfast inn in Stowe, Vermont is seeking an Inn Associate, a primarily housekeeping position. We are a highly rated inn, and a Select Registry property so are seeking an excellent, reliable, detail oriented person for this role.

The primary duties of this role are:

-Housekeeping including cleaning rooms, common areas, the kitchen, etc. along with washing of laundry, bussing tables during and after breakfast service and cleaning dishes. You will be expected to complete checklists of tasks and room cleaning requirements daily.

-You will also need to be able to interact positively with guests, have an eye for detail and pro-actively maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property (per Select Registry), and flexibility inherent in the hospitality industry.

-You would be expected to clean up to 5 rooms in a day when working alone and helping with up to 9 rooms when working along with our other Inn Associate during busy days or peak periods. Ideally you will be able to efficiently to clean so that they have time in their 30-40 hours of work per week to assist with other duties.

These other duties might include, commensurate on experience or ability: helping with breakfast service as a server or cook, helping guests with questions about the inn or local area, assisting with check ins or being on call in the evenings when the innkeepers are unavailable, and light duty maintenance and repair including painting. These duties would be dependent on the candidate’s skill sets and ability to complete housekeeping tasks in a time that would allow them to be taken on and are not required for this position, but may allow for a higher base wage.

The work schedule is 5 days a week with some flexibility on which days are worked. The expectation is to work 30-40 hours per week, with possibility for overtime with prior approval during busy seasons. Three of those days will be worked with the other Inn Associate with 2 as the solo employee on duty. You are provided 10 days of paid PTO (5 days in Stick Season, 5 days in Mud Season) a year. You will receive tips, split evenly between the staff. Group dental and vision is available at employee expense.

You must have reliable transportation and proximity to Stowe is preferred as you will be needed to work even when weather is inclement.
