Housekeeper/Room Attendant

JOB SUMMARY

Perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain hotel in a clean and orderly manner. Duties include making beds, replenishing linens and guest supplies, cleaning rooms and public areas, and vacuuming.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The room attendant will report directly to the Lead Room Attendant or General Manager.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobby, elevator, stairway and other work areas.
  • Cleans carpeting, upholstered furniture and other items using vacuum cleaner.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment.
  • Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, polishes floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered cleaning machines.
  • Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores clean linen supplies in linen closet. 2 Polishes metal work such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washes walls, ceiling and woodwork.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area(s).
  • Turns in lost and found items to supervisor following guidelines for documentation of items.
  • Restocks carts at shift end, restock linen and storage areas.
  • Maintains organization of storage areas and carts.
