The Housekeeping position at the Southern Utah Veterans Home is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This role ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, and other facility spaces.
• Dispose of trash and waste materials in a timely and sanitary manner.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in designated areas.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages observed during cleaning duties.
• Follow all safety and infection control procedures to maintain a healthy environment.
• Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of residents at all times.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weights.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
  
  
  

Work Environment

This position involves working indoors in a healthcare facility environment. The role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be used as required.
