The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors within the facility. This role supports infection prevention efforts and helps ensure compliance with health and safety standards in long-term care.
Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces throughout the facility.
Empty trash and replace liners in resident rooms and common areas.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, handrails, and equipment.
Follow infection control procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
Respond to housekeeping requests from nursing staff and residents.
Follow facility safety policies and proper waste disposal procedures.
Assist with terminal cleaning of rooms after resident discharge or transfer.
Maintain housekeeping carts and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare, long-term care, or hospitality preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and infection control practices.
Ability to follow safety procedures and facility policies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
