Housekeeping Director

Full-Time Leadership Position

Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Housekeeping Director to lead our Environmental Services team. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and infection control standards.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Director oversees all housekeeping and laundry operations throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to quality, and a passion for creating a comfortable environment that enhances the resident experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all housekeeping and laundry staff.

  • Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate departmental coverage.

  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members to maintain high performance standards.

  • Ensure resident rooms, common areas, offices, and facility grounds are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition.

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations, including infection prevention protocols.

  • Conduct routine inspections and quality assurance audits.

  • Manage department inventory, supplies, and budgetary controls.

  • Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, and other departments to support resident care and satisfaction.

  • Investigate and resolve housekeeping-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain safety standards and ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, or senior living setting.

  • Strong knowledge of environmental services, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to motivate and develop staff while fostering a positive team culture.

  • Experience with staffing, scheduling, and budget management preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications related to environmental services are a plus.
