Job Summary
The Houseperson is responsible for supporting the housekeeping team by cleaning public areas, delivering supplies, removing trash and linens, and assisting with guest requests. This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, restrooms, and meeting spaces.
- Deliver linens, towels, amenities, and housekeeping supplies to guest rooms and storage areas.
- Collect and transport dirty linens and trash to designated disposal areas.
- Assist room attendants with heavy lifting, furniture movement, and special cleaning projects.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for additional supplies and services.
- Replenish housekeeping closets and storage rooms.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and lost-and-found items to management.
- Ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Support deep-cleaning and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hotel experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and move heavy supplies and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
- Hotel, resort, or hospitality setting.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying indoor temperatures.
- Must be able to work weekend and holiday shifts.
Job Type: Part-time
