Housekeeping - Room Attendant

The Room Attendant will provide Forbes Five Star service with attention to detail, quality, and consistency. Responsible for completing daily work quota. Ensures that guest rooms and hallways are cleaned thoroughly and according to standards, meeting or exceeding guest expectations. This position provides the opportunity to select an appropriate leveling program based on the number of guest rooms the associate is able to service satisfactorily.
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other associates or guests.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
- Possess a positive, outgoing and friendly personality.
- Ability to provide excellent guest service.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Exercise good judgment and be a clear thinker in pressure situations.
- Ability to focus attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions and work without direct daily supervision.
- Team player.
Desirable:
- Experience in the hospitality industry or equivalent.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
- Basic ability to communicate in the English language.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Room Attendant 3:
- Newly hired room attendant with little to no previous experience as a room attendant
- Requirements to move to next Tier
- 6 Months of continuous employment as a Room Attendant 3
- Arrival & Stayover Audit Average of 93 or Higher.
- No documented performance or attendance infractions within the past 6 months.
- Interview with Director of Housekeeping or Assistant Director of Housekeeping
Room Attendant 2:
- Newly hired room attendant with 2+ years of previous room attendant experience in a Luxury 4-5 Star Hotel/Resort Environment
- Current Room Attendant 3 who has met previously listed requirements
- Requirements to move to next Tier
- 6 Months of continuous employment as a Room Attendant 2
- Arrival & Stayover Audit Average of 95 or Higher.
- No documented performance or attendance infractions within the past 6 months.
- Interview with Director of Housekeeping or Assistant Director of Housekeeping
Room Attendant 1:
- Newly hired room attendant with 5+ years of previous room attendant experience in a Luxury 4-5 Star Hotel/Resort Environment. Must pass a 90 probationary period as a Room Attendant 2
- Current Room Attendant 2 who has met previously listed requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate occupying this position. Associates will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor.
- Clean occupied and departure rooms, following proper sequence. Complete on average of 10 Credits per 8 Hours Shift
- Make beds, vacuum, dust, scrub restrooms, clean patios, and refresh and supply guest room amenities.
- Efficiently process and prioritize tasks.
- Remain attentive to guests, continually serving them to ensure an enjoyable visit.
- Remain calm and courteous in demanding and difficult guest situations, resolving issues whenever possible and reporting to supervisor or manager.
- Safely operate Hostar equipment.
- Display work habits that promote accident prevention.
- Adhere to health department sanitation and safety regulations.
- Handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly, reporting maintenance needs to the supervisor or manager.
- Report guest room maintenance needs via Knowcross
- Maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
- Ensure security of guest room access and hotel property, including assigned keys and communication devices.
- Follow lost and found protocols.
- As occupancy requires, Level A and B Room Attendants may be assigned to the preparation, cleaning and upkeep of Casa Elar, a 10,000 square foot on-site estate.
- In addition to the above mentioned cleaning duties, Room Attendants assigned to Casa Elar also wash dishes, touch-up library, parlor and bar, patios and pool area.
