Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Description:

Looking for a job that’s anything but ordinary? Emberglow Outdoor Resort is seeking a full-time, year-round Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team.

If you enjoy the outdoors, appreciate camping or glamping vibes, and take pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces while leading a team, this could be a great fit for you.

About the Role:

Housekeeping at Emberglow is refreshingly unique. Instead of traditional hotel rooms, you’ll help oversee the care of a variety of one-of-a-kind lodging spaces ranging from yurts, safari tents, treehouses, tiny homes, to a double-decker bus. No two days look exactly the same, and your leadership plays a major role in creating an exceptional guest experience.

This is a hands-on supervisory position. You’ll work alongside the housekeeping team while also helping manage daily operations, inventory, scheduling support, quality control, and training.

This role involves both indoor and outdoor work and may require working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, or light rain.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Handling laundry duties including washing, folding, and organizing linens and towels
  • Restocking supplies such as toiletries, linens, and cleaning materials
  • Reporting maintenance issues or damages to management promptly
  • Following safety procedures and using cleaning chemicals responsibly
  • Maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of buildings and guest areas

Supervisory Duties:

  • Assisting with training and overseeing housekeeping staff
  • Helping manage daily housekeeping workflow and assignments
  • Performing quality checks to ensure Emberglow standards are maintained
  • Monitoring linen and supply inventory
  • Assisting with ordering linens, cleaning products, and housekeeping supplies
  • Helping maintain organization of storage and laundry areas
  • Supporting communication between housekeeping and management teams
  • Assisting with scheduling coordination and coverage when needed
  • Leading by example with professionalism, reliability, and teamwork

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous housekeeping experience (hospitality or lodging experience preferred)
  • Has prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate
  • Is dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Enjoys working in an outdoor-focused environment
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Is comfortable leading and motivating others in a fast-paced environment
  • Has reliable transportation
  • Is available to work weekends and holidays as needed

Physical & Work Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry medium to heavy items (approximately 30–50 lbs), such as linens, supplies, or equipment
  • Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain, stairs, and varied lodging layouts
  • Typical shifts are daytime hours, generally starting around 9am, with schedule flexibility based on occupancy and operational needs

Pay & Schedule:

  • Full-time, year-round position
  • Starting pay: $16–$18/hour during probationary period, depending on experience
  • Opportunity for pay increases based on performance and long-term fit
  • Weekend and holiday availability required
