A Houseman/Laundry Attendant works in a hotel’s housekeeping department, helping keep rooms, linens, and public areas clean and organized.
Main Duties:
- Collect dirty linens, towels, and uniforms from guest rooms
- Wash, dry, fold, and organize laundry
- Deliver clean linens to housekeeping staff and storage areas
- Restock supplies (towels, sheets, toiletries) on carts and floors
- Clean hallways, storage rooms, and public areas
- Pick up trash from hallways and around the hotel and dispose of it in dumpsters
- Assist housekeepers with heavy tasks (moving beds, trash removal)
- Report damaged items or maintenance issues
- Follow safety and cleanliness standards
Skills Needed:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads
- Attention to detail
- Time management and teamwork
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced hotel setting
- Standing, walking, bending for long periods
- May work weekends and holidays
