Position Summary

The Housing Caseworker provides case management and housing support services to individuals and families experiencing housing instability or homelessness. Working across our housing programs, this role helps clients secure and maintain stable housing while connecting them to resources that support long-term stability and self-sufficiency. This position offers meaningful, community-focused work with a direct impact on people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and housing barriers
  • Develop and monitor individualized service plans
  • Provide ongoing case management through home visits, office meetings, and phone contact
  • Assist clients with housing search, applications, and lease understanding
  • Coordinate rental assistance and related financial supports as applicable
  • Connect clients to community resources (healthcare, mental health, employment, public benefits)
  • Advocate for clients with landlords, service providers, and agencies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in HMIS and agency systems
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent client needs

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or related field, or
  • Associate’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant paid experience

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass required background checks
  • Basic computer skills (training provided)
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability
  • Knowledge of Housing First, HUD programs, or HMIS
  • Trauma-informed or crisis intervention experience
  • Familiarity with local social service systems
  • Bilingual skills relevant to the service area

Work Environment

This role includes a mix of office work, home visits, and community-based activities. Travel throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania is required.

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
