Housing Counseling Intake Specialist

· Part-Time Housing Counseling Intake Specialist

· Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

· Benefits: Part-time employees working less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for benefits. Part-time employees may be eligible for holiday pay.

· Work Schedule: from 8:00 am to Noon - 20 max 25 hours a week.

Job description:

General Purpose:

The part-time Housing Counseling Intake Specialist assists the Housing Counselors in being prepared for all counseling appointments. This position completes client intake, assists with client scheduling, and maintains the client file process. The Housing Counseling Assistant/Office Administrator position reports to the Manager of Housing Education.

Essential Functions:

· Performs daily intake of new clients each morning. It is essential that this position be able to work consistent morning hours. WHN is willing to flex around class schedules for those pursuing a college education.

· Monitors the Education email folder for client documentation.

· Responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of client files, including online and paper records, from intake through case closure

· Schedules consultation appointments with Housing Counselors

· Receives and directs phone calls, liaison with clients and tenants

· Performs other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

Education:

· High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent is required

Experience:

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other office management tools and applications preferred.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

· Must have reliable transportation

· Must have a valid driver’s license

· Passing a criminal history background check will be required prior to the start of employment

· This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required; it would require the ability to reach for and lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary

· Ability to stand, sit, walk, walk on unpaved terrain, talk, reach with arms and hands, have good manual dexterity, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, handle or feel, hear alarms/telephones/normal speaking voice

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

· Work primarily involves a high degree of mental concentration

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus

· Light physical effort may be required by moving and positioning objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and / or 10 pounds frequently
