Position Summary:
The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board is an innovative and award-winning organization working to ensure affordable housing, farmland, jobs, and recreational assets for every generation of Vermonters.
If you have an eagle eye for detail and a passion for community impact, the Housing and Data Specialist role at VHCB is an incredible way to power the mission of affordable housing. In this vital role, you are the "closer" who ensures complex projects cross the finish line. You’ll act as a central hub for the Housing Underwriting Team, working hand-in-hand with program staff to navigate the necessary steps to move grant approvals closer to real-world homes. This position offers a collaborative, problemsolving environment where your knack for organization can translate into homes for Vermonters.
Through your data skills, you will play a key role in supporting the Executive Director and Director of Policy to convey VHCB’s progress to the Legislature and other key partners to meet the housing needs of vulnerable Vermonters. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your analytical skills by underwriting feasibility grants, supporting new and innovative housing ideas from their earliest stages, with strong mentorship and a collaborative and supportive team. You’ll take the lead on managing disbursement requests, meticulously reviewing project invoices, and communicating directly with grantees to keep funding moving smoothly.
In this role, you’ll find a balance of independence and teamwork. You’ll join a highly collaborative group that values your expertise in project monitoring and research. Whether you’re conducting one-year anniversary project site visits to see the results of VHCB’s work or managing electronic project tracking files, you are an essential part of the "big picture." This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a background in real estate finance, project management or development who is eager to grow their career within a mission-driven organization.
