The HR Accounting Clerk plays a key role in supporting both Human Resources and Finance by ensuring accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, employee recordkeeping, and compliance reporting. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys a mix of administrative, accounting, compliance, and interpersonal work that involves navigating conversations and conflicts with professionalism and composure in a team-oriented environment.
Payroll & Timekeeping

Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule

Review and audit employee timesheets for accuracy, including work orders, overtime, and leave usage

Track overtime, standby rotation, and leave hours

Maintain direct deposit information and payroll records

Assist with payroll tax filings, reporting, and payment processing

Prepare and distribute W-2s and 1099s
Benefits & Retirement Support

Assist with employee benefits administration and enrollment support

Serve as a resource for employee education on benefit programs

Negotiate contracts with benefits brokers

Complete monthly benefit invoice processing and reconciliation with payroll records

Administer retirement plans per plan design in compliance with federal regulations
HR & Employee Support

Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes

Support job postings, application processing, interviews, and pre-employment paperwork

Help ensure completion of background checks, drug screens, and I-9 verification

Assist with employment verification requests

Support department heads with recruitment, retention, & employee management
Compliance & Reporting

Assist with regulatory reporting including labor statistics and safety reports

Maintain workers' compensation records and documentation

Knowledge and implementation of employment and labor laws (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, Etc.)

Assist with garnishments and other required payroll deductions
Accounting & Administrative Support

Provide payroll data to accounting and assist with basic AP/AR functions

Serve as system approver for invoices and vouchers in financial systems

Maintain organized, secure employee personnel files and records

Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information
What We're Looking For

Experience in payroll, HR support, bookkeeping, or administrative accounting preferred
