Overview
We’re seeking an experienced and highly organized HR & Accounting Specialist to join our growing team in the transportation industry. This is a dual-role position requiring expertise in Human Resources, QuickBooks accounting, billing, accounts receivable, and company tax preparation.
Duties
- Key Responsibilities: Human Resources Duties:
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes
- 401 K benefits
- Health benefits
Accounting & Billing Duties:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and invoicing using QuickBooks
- Handle accounts receivable and collections
- Prepare and submit tax documents (quarterly and annual)
- Reconcile bank statements and financial reports
- Coordinate with external accountants as needed
- Monitor expenses and assist with budgeting
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in both HR and accounting roles
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online)
- Prior experience in the transportation or logistics industry
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and HR policies
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, driver onboarding, and ELD systems
- Experience with payroll tax filings and benefits administration
- Maintain employee records and ensure HR compliance
- Manage payroll, benefits, and timekeeping systems
- Support recruitment, hiring, and employee relations
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and labor regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software QuickBooks
- Familiarity with financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, and cash flow analysis.
- Experience with public accounting practices and non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Understanding of securities law, wills, trusts & estate law is beneficial.
- Proficiency in financial report writing and interpretation; ability to prepare comprehensive financial statements.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on account reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
- Strong communication skills for effective mentoring and collaboration within teams.

Pay: $48,677.62 - $58,622.51 per year
