1. Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Hiring skilled/unskilled workers, supervisors, technicians, and engineers
- Coordinating with contract labour agencies
- Ensuring proper manpower allocation per shift
- Managing high turnover rates in labour-intensive roles
2. Onboarding & Induction
- Orientation on factory rules, safety protocols, and SOPs
- Issuing uniforms, ID cards, and safety gear (PPE)
- Training on machine operation and safety
3. Attendance & Shift Management
- Maintaining shift rosters (A, B, C shifts, general shift)
- Managing biometric attendance systems
- Monitoring overtime and compensatory offs
4. Compliance with Labor Laws
- Maintaining statutory registers (ESI, PF, Factory Act, etc.)
- Handling inspections from government departments (Labor Officer, ESI, PF, etc.)
- Ensuring contract labor compliance through vendors
- Grievance redressal for workers and union coordination (if applicable)
5. Employee Relations
- Maintaining discipline on the shop floor
- Managing union relationships and negotiations
- Handling absenteeism, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
6. Training & Skill Development
- Technical training on machinery and process upgrades
- Safety and fire drill sessions
- Supervisory skills training for line managers
7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Coordinating with safety officers to ensure compliance
- Reporting and managing workplace injuries and accidents
- Implementing safety campaigns and awareness
8. Performance Management
- Tracking operator KPIs (productivity, downtime, quality defects)
- Supervising appraisal processes for staff and workers
- Managing promotions, transfers, and rewards
9. Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Processing wages (monthly/salary and weekly/daily labor)
- Handling bonuses, shift allowances, attendance incentives
- Managing PF, ESI, gratuity, and other statutory benefits
10. Employee Engagement
- Organizing factory-level events (Annual Day, Safety Week)
- Welfare activities (canteen, transport, medical camps)
- Suggestion schemes and recognition programs
✅ Admin Responsibilities in Manufacturing
1. Facility & Utility Management
- Ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of factory premises
- Coordinating with maintenance for electricity, water, HVAC
- Overseeing security services, CCTV monitoring, gate entries
2. Support Services
- Managing canteen, housekeeping, and transport for workers
- Ensuring availability of PPE, uniforms, and consumables
- Overseeing dormitories or worker housing (if applicable)
3. Documentation & Records
- Maintaining employee records, licenses, safety certificates
- Organizing audits (ISO, OSHA, internal)
- Documenting visitor logs, gate passes, and delivery challans
4. Travel & Coordination
- Arranging travel and stay for staff, engineers, or auditors
- Liaison with government authorities, inspectors, vendors
5. Asset & Inventory Control
- Managing office equipment, plant tools, stationery
- Overseeing issuance and tracking of administrative assets
