To administer and maintain employee benefits and assist with the daily operation of
the HR Department.

Responsible for implementing, administering, and facilitating all aspects of the employee benefit plans, including new employee benefits meetings and maintaining online enrollment.

Assist HR Director with strategic planning and develop and manage HR process.

Assist with implementation and planning of performance management system.
-
Act as Director in the absence of the Director of HR with employee relations, problem solving with Directors and CO’s and making offers to eligible candidates.

Assist in and approve the development of new policies and procedures in the handbook and in keeping the Staff policy Handbook up to date.

Complete all aspects of Workers’ Comp, completing FRI, communication with worker comp company and Concentra.

Encourage staff to engage in wellness program.
-
Assist staff with change forms when needed (AUL, W-4, etc.).
-
Assist staff with HRA and FSA procedures for reimbursements.
-
Maintain staff paid time off (Wellness, Prayer, etc.), approve timecards and time off requests.

Perform all aspects needed for the completion of the annual 5500 audit for the
retirement plan and the Worker’s Comp audit.

Review and manage reports to be in compliance with the Affordable Care Act
regulations.

Attend meetings for AUL and Medical benefit updates and changes.

Onboard all new employees into online payroll system.

Work closely with Finance Department, reviewing monthly insurance bills for accuracy.

Place staff on drivers’ insurance lists – adding and removing names; keeping list current.

Schedule extra programs for staff (meetings with retirement rep and supplemental
insurance rep, etc.).

Process payroll for entire staff, managing payroll information, ensuring information is up to date.

Keep all document in Paycom up to date and file all employee documents in appropriate files.

Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Director and the Accounting Director.

Have a desire to serve the Lord through widely varied responsibilities to advance ministry to those currently homeless, and the urban poor of Kansas City, with a compassionate heart.

Agree to City Union Mission’s Statement of Ministry:

Be a genuine believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, as expressed by personal testimony and conduct.

Be a member in good standing of a recognized protestant, evangelical church for one year or more.

Have a genuine concern for the ministry of City Union Mission.

Have a minimum of one year of sobriety from alcohol and drugs and six months from tobacco.

Agree to abstain from alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and tobacco while employed by City Union Mission.

Have a lifestyle that is free of sexual sin as clearly defined in the Bible.
- Must be organized, detailed, and have the ability to keep confidential information.

Must have the ability to manage time effectively and work independently.

Needs to be proficient in most computer programs.

Must have good communication and people skills.

Must have a servant’s heart and an ability to formulate systems.

Minimum 2 yr. degree in HR or equivalent experience; strongly preferred Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and minimum 2 years’ experience working with benefits administration.

SHRM certified preferred
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to drive to our campuses in Kansas City and in Warsaw.
