Position Summary

The HR & Accounting Manager will play a dual role in managing human resources and accounting functions for the company. This individual will handle everything from payroll and benefits administration to budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing both administrative and financial tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and workers’ compensation.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, performance management systems, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support management in resolving employee relations issues and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Track and maintain employee certifications, safety training, and compliance records.

Accounting & Finance

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure consistency in policy and procedures between the islands.
  • Ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
  • Coordinate with external accountants for audits, tax preparation, and financial compliance.
  • Ensure accurate job costing and expense tracking for construction projects.
  • Monitor financial KPIs and recommend cost-saving or efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Human Resources
  • 5+ years of combined HR and accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll systems, and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and construction management software (e.g., Procore, GCPay).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
