We’re seeking an HR and Learning & Development Assistant to join our teams at our Operations Center in Norway, ME.
As a member of both our HR and Learning and Development teams, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting employees throughout their journey with the Bank—from their first day through their ongoing growth and development.
You’ll work closely with both teams to assist with a variety of administrative, logistical, and employee-facing initiatives that help create a positive and engaging workplace experience.
Within the HR team, you’ll support key functions such as recruiting and onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining accurate employee data. On the Learning & Development side, you’ll help coordinate training programs, manage course registrations, and ensure training logistics run smoothly for employees across the organization.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Essential Pieces of the Position:
Learning and Development Coordination:
- Collaborates with Retail Talent Development Specialists and Learning and Development Manager on scheduling L&D activities.
- Assists in logistics of the Books and Beyond Program in collaboration with the L&D Manager.
- Collaborate with Retail Talent Development Specialists to create Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintains L&D calendar and HUB page.
- Engage with Learning Management System for course enrollments and uploading content. Create reporting on utilization and tracking of course completion.
- Monitor invoices to track for budget reconciliation.
- Updates Learning and Development Dashboard to reflect monthly training completion for internal, external, and LMS enrolled training.
- Enrolls employees in external training programs (e.g. CFTEA courses, ME Bankers, etc.)
Human Resources Coordination:
- Assist with recruiting functions including; coordinating phone screens and interviews, phone screening candidates, and notifying candidates of onboarding information.
- Assist Compliance and Benefits Administrator with Open Enrollment and timely enrollment of new hires.
- Support team projects by completing assigned tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assist with maintaining organized records, tracking, and shared files.
- Support the HRIS Administrator in maintaining up to date employee records in the HRIS System.
- Assist in records management including scanning, filing, and maintaining up-to-date records.
Our Candidate Must Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency with the internet and fluency with Microsoft Office suite of programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- High level of professionalism in presence and communication as well as confidentiality
