Reports to: Director of Operations

Location: Nashville, TN

Position Type: Full Time; Hybrid - 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000

Primary Responsibilities

The HR and Payroll Coordinator supports the daily operations of Human Resources and Payroll functions. This role assists with employee onboarding, personnel records, benefits administration, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Payroll Support

  • Assist in processing bimonthly payroll, including data entry, timecard review, contractor payments and basic troubleshooting.

  • Verify employee hours, pay rates, and deductions for accuracy

  • Support payroll adjustments (e.g., missed punches, leave corrections)

  • Maintain payroll records and respond to employee payroll questions

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational payroll policies

Human Resources Support

  • Coordinate onboarding activities such as new hire paperwork, background checks, orientation scheduling

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files

  • Assist with benefits enrollment and respond to basic employee questions

  • Support recruitment processes (job postings, interview screening and scheduling, candidate communication)

  • Track required licenses, certifications, and trainings for clinical staff

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 years of administrative, HR, payroll, or office experience (internships acceptable)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

  • Experience with HRIS or payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG)

  • Familiarity with healthcare or behavioral health settings

  • Basic understanding of employment laws, payroll tax policies and payroll practices

Physical Demands:

This position will require light to medium work involving standing or walking most of the time with some lifting in excess of 20lbs. Position will also frequently reach above the shoulders, climbing stairs, and spending time outdoors in various conditions of heat/cold, lighting conditions, and noise levels.
