The HR Assistant will works with the HR and Payroll Team and is responsible for the day to day implementation of the following:
Responsibilities:
- Processing new employee pre hire applications by running criminal background checks, and scheduling applicants for drug screens when required.
- Provide hiring manager the applicants clearance to start work and email/phone follow up with hiring manager for applicants final application documents.
- Review employee's final paper application for accuracy and make sure all required documents are included.
- Issue employee ID number using excel spreadsheet, data enter employee information into payroll systems prior to payroll processing.
- Review I9 forms and work authorization documents; follow up for discrepancies; track expiration dates on excel sheet.
- Create employee file on server and file application.
- Calculate employee vacation and sick time accruals when requested by employees manager..
Required Skills:
- Attention to detail, accuracy and excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet daily deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Must be a self starter and able to work independently making decisions.
- Experience with ADP and/or Paychex a plus.
- Experience with I9 audits and compliance a plus.
- This position is in person, in an office environment, not hybrid or remote.
- Bilingual English /Spanish speaking is a plus.
