The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations. This role assists with employee onboarding, recordkeeping, benefits administration, recruitment support, employee communications, and general HR inquiries. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain employee records, files, and databases with accuracy and confidentiality.

Assist with managing the HR inbox, responding to routine inquiries, and escalating issues as needed.

Coordinate interview schedules, conduct initial candidate screenings, and communicate with applicants.

Prepare offer letters and assist with background checks and onboarding paperwork.

Help facilitate new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

Assist employees with basic benefits questions and enrollment processes.

Help verify timecards, collect payroll changes, and communicate payroll deadlines.

Coordinate leave-of-absence documentation and track PTO usage as directed.

Assist in organizing staff events, recognition programs, and HR initiatives.

Help maintain and update HRIS data.

Ensure data accuracy and assist with audits.
Qualifications

High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.

1–2 years of administrative or HR-related experience preferred.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Experience with HRIS or applicant tracking systems is a plus.
