Position Overview
This dual-role position provides hands-on HR support while serving as a key administrative partner to the COO. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
This is a highly visible role with leadership interaction and growth potential for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Human Resources Support:
- Assist with recruitment (job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling)
- Coordinate onboarding and new hire documentation
- Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with California labor laws
- Support payroll processing and timekeeping audits
- Assist with benefits administration
- Maintain I-9 records and workers’ compensation documentation
- Support safety, training, and compliance programs
COO Administrative Support:
- Manage calendar, meetings, and correspondence
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and internal communications
- Assist with operational documentation and SOP updates
- Track compliance documentation (OSHA, CDFA, SQF, HFAC, etc.)
- Coordinate communication between departments
- Handle confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
- Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 2+ years of administrative or HR experience preferred
- Knowledge of California employment law strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with payroll or ADP systems is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience resolving problems quickly; possesses good follow-up and organizational skills
- Experience working in a continuously changing environment
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in business or Human Resources
Compensation
$27–$33 per hour
Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
