Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented HR & Billing Support Associate on a contract basis. This role plays a vital part in keeping our practices running smoothly and requires knowledge of HR processes, accurate and timely payroll execution, client billing support, and day-to-day operational coordination. The right candidate works independently, takes initiative, and understands the importance of discretion and accuracy in a healthcare environment. We are a small company, so this role requires someone willing to wear different hats.
This role would only bill about 5-8 hours a weeks or less.
Responsibilities:
HR & Compliance
- Maintain employee records in both digital and physical formats
- Stay current on applicable HR regulations, legal requirements, and government reporting obligations
- Prepare and process paperwork for HR policies, procedures, and employee requests
- Support the hiring process including posting job listings, reviewing incoming applications, and coordinating candidate communication
- Provide onboarding support for new hires, including orientation and company policy walkthroughs
- Update and maintain HR databases, including records for new hires, separations, and leaves of absence
Payroll & Billing
- Assist with payroll preparation and submission by compiling relevant data such as hours and absences
- Cross-check insurance payments, copays, and session fees for accuracy on a weekly basis
- Assist with issuing superbills to private pay clients as needed on a monthly basis
Operations & Administration
- Coordinate HR-related projects and training sessions as needed
- Prepare reports and internal communications as needed
- Support employee safety, welfare, and wellness initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience in an HR, payroll, or billing support role — healthcare or clinical practice setting preferred
- Familiarity with HR and/or practice management software; experience with payroll platforms a plus
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and general computer literacy
- Working knowledge of Colorado labor law and HR compliance requirements
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client and employee confidentiality
- Experience with medical billing basics: insurance payments, copays, superbills (or willingness to learn)
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 8.0 per week
