Brooksville Youth Academy in Brooksville, Florida, is a 60-bed residential treatment program serving boys ages 13 to 18. The program provides trauma-informed care, mental health and substance abuse treatment, and vocational preparation in a structured environment. Youth typically remain in care based on individualized treatment outcomes, participating in individual, group, and family therapy; life skills development; enrichment activities; and education. Small group living units and balanced, dietitian-guided meals help promote stabilization, healthy development, and successful community reintegration.
Position Summary – HR / Business Manager Job in Brooksville, Florida
We are hiring a HR / Business Manager to oversee both business office functions and human resources at Brooksville Youth Academy. This role is ideal for individuals with strong organizational, financial, and HR skills who want to contribute to a mission-driven environment supporting youth success. You will manage accounting, payroll, compliance, staff recruitment, and reporting processes, while also supporting the Facility Administrator with daily operations.

HR / Business Manager Responsibilities
Human Resource Duties
- Recruit, interview, and onboard qualified job applicants
- Manage payroll, employee files, benefits administration, and reporting
- Conduct background checks, verifications, and compliance tracking
- Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Administer HR programs including training, performance management, and employee relations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support disciplinary meetings, investigations, and documentation
- Maintain knowledge of HR best practices, regulations, and trends
Business Office Duties
- Direct and monitor accounting work including voucher preparation, coding, financial reports, and account management
- Prepare financial reports for Regional, Executive, and Corporate leadership
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, billing, and budget control
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of annual budgets
- Create and maintain administrative files for the Facility Administrator
- Oversee vendor relationships and operational expenditures
Other Duties Include
- Maintain role model behavior for youth and staff
- Participate in required training and development activities
- Report incidents, conditions, or unusual events as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field preferred
- Two years’ experience in business office or HR functions preferred
- Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Preferred
- Strong computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
Other Requirements
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods. Occasionally lift/move up to 15 lbs. Ability to navigate all facility departments. May require irregular hours and occasional transport of youth or staff. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by law.
- Other: Must maintain a valid state driver’s license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
