Hours: Hours of Operation Monday through Thursday 7am-4pm & Friday 7am-3pm. Hours based on individual level. Some after-hours work, weekend work and/or travel may be required.

Position Summary: HR & Benefits Assistant is responsible for assisting with HR duties and ensuring proper communication to team members regarding benefits.

We want you to join our Champion team as an HR & Business Service Support professional, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive human resources and business services that empower our organization to thrive. This energetic position involves supporting HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing employee relations, and facilitating strategic initiatives that enhance workforce effectiveness. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help foster a positive work environment while streamlining HR processes to meet organizational goals.

Position Expectations (may include but not limited to):

1. Accountable for providing GRAND CHAMPION Customer Service

2. Assist with; carrier, customer & broker records, collections, invoicing, going to post office.

3. Answer and direct incoming phone calls

4. Process Ready to Bill paperwork daily as needed

5. Aid in posting trucks for Logistics on software program

6. Keep training manuals & processes current and up to date

7. Organize and prepare company handbooks

8. Coordinate training and orientation paperwork for new team members

9. Keep training duties and schedules updated when requested

10. Create and maintain interview packets, orientation packets and insurance folders

11. Data entry, filing, and printing important confidential documents

12. Scan HR paperwork. Keep HR file up to date with team members current addresses.

13. Prepare Wednesday Team Building meeting notes and send recap information

14. Assist in maintaining work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions

15. Support HR in maintaining team member records as well as ensuring legal compliance of human resource federal and state requirements

16. Assist HR as needed. May include but not limited to reviews, disciplinary actions, interviews, job postings. Make sure these are completed in a timely manner.

17. Schedule quarterly meetings for HR & Benefits to help team members obtain information and understand company benefits & incentive programs

18. Handle team member time-off requests

19. Assist in calculating timecards and other payroll duties as directed

20. Assist with signing team members up for classes

21. Backup for posting benefit or human resource related topic on company and team Facebook pages weekly

22. Help organize, prepare, and send off tax information end of year and/or during tax season

23. Assist in running daily/weekly reports when requested by HR manager

24. Attend weekly company meetings & educational classes & seminars as directed

25. Assist Owners, managers & team members as directed

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

*College degree or 2-4 years’ work experience, sales training helpful

*Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

*Above average communication skills

*An understanding of the transportation/logistics industry, or desire to learn

*Self-motivated & innovative – able to work with little supervision

*Able to multitask and prioritize tasks

*Excellent phone skills, & data entry – computer skills

*Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a smile on your face!

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
