Job Title: HR & Compliance Coordinator Department: Operations Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time (FTE) Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience About Women’s Money Matters At Women’s Money Matters, we believe that financial wellness is a fundamental human right. Position Summary The HR & Compliance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our organization’s people and compliance infrastructure. This position ensures smooth onboarding, maintains HR records and systems, manages benefits administration, and tracks compliance requirements. Working closely with the COO and other team members, this role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to build efficient, compliant processes in a lean, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Human Resources (HR) ● Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all documentation and systems are up to date. ● Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. ● Administer employee benefits, leave tracking, and HR policies. ● Serve as the point of contact for HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., Gusto, Justworks, BambooHR), ensuring accurate and timely data entry. ● Support team leads and COO in recruitment logistics and hiring documentation. ● Respond to employee HR-related inquiries or direct them to the appropriate outsourced vendor. Compliance & Governance ● Track and monitor internal and external compliance requirements, including regulatory filings, trainings, audits, and policy updates. ● Maintain an organized calendar of compliance deadlines (e.g., state filings, annual reporting). ● Assist in drafting and maintaining HR and organizational policies, SOPs, and employee handbook. ● Coordinate with pro bono legal counsel on routine compliance and contract matters. ● Ensure accurate recordkeeping for audits, contracts, and employee documentation. Collaboration & Support ● Work closely with the COO on governance and risk-related matters. ● Collaborate with outsourced providers (e.g., payroll, legal, IT) to ensure timely and accurate service delivery. ● Contribute to the documentation and refinement of HR and compliance processes as part of broader automation and process improvement efforts. ● Assist in cross-functional operations projects as needed, particularly where HR and compliance intersect. Qualifications ● 2–4 years of experience in HR, compliance, or operations support (nonprofit or small business experience preferred). ● Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Gusto, Justworks, BambooHR). ● Basic understanding of employment law, benefits administration, and compliance best practices. ● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ● Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently. ● Comfort working with remote teams and technology tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom). ● Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information. Preferred Skills ● Experience working with outsourced service providers (payroll, legal, IT). ● Exposure to nonprofit compliance requirements (e.g., 990 filing, state registrations). ● Basic knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices across multiple U.S. states.
