What You Will Be Doing
The HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations, serving as a reliable point of contact for employee inquiries and HR-related processes. You’ll manage onboarding tasks in the HRIS system, conduct background checks, verify employment eligibility, and maintain accurate I-9 documentation. You help ensure compliance with employment laws while keeping employee records organized and up to date. You may also support recruitment efforts and assist with special HR projects as needed. Your attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to excellent service will help create a positive experience for both new and current employees. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

This is an in-person position based in Tampa, FL.

HR Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities
  • Functions as a vital source of general human resources information for our employees.
  • Conducts administrative onboarding of new hires in HRIS system.
  • Abides by company HR processes and current employment laws and regulations.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
  • Organizes, maintains, and updates employee HRIS information, as needed.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.
  • Answers general benefits questions.
  • Triages calls and emails from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains general knowledge of trends, best practices, employment laws, and HR related technologies.
  • Supports any other special projects that arise based on organizational need.
  • May perform some recruitment duties, facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

HR Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications
  • ADP Workforce Now experience is preferred, but not required.
  • English/ Spanish Bilingual is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions accurately and without hesitation.
  • Thorough attention to details.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams and Outlook) and related business and communication tools.
  • Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Reliable and personable; enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals and ensuring employee requirements and needs are met first.
