In the area of employment law, we pride ourselves on delivering high-touch, strategic advice to HR professionals, executive teams, and in-house legal departments across industries. As our client base continues to grow, we’re seeking a seasoned Employment Law Advising Associate to join our collaborative team.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced attorney with at least five years of direct counseling experience in employment law. This is not a litigation role. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise advising HR professionals and business leaders on day-to-day employment issues, compliance strategies, and best practices for workplace policy development. A strong background in executive compensation, including equity and deferred compensation plans, is highly preferred. No portable book of business required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily counseling to clients on a wide range of employment issues including performance management, terminations, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations
  • Draft, review, and update employment policies, handbooks, and internal procedures
  • Advise clients on federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
  • Assist in designing and implementing executive compensation structures, including equity and deferred compensation plans
  • Lead or support client trainings, webinars, and educational sessions on employment law topics
  • Participate in business development and marketing initiatives, including writing articles, blog posts, and presenting at industry events
  • Work independently while collaborating with other team members on cross-functional matters

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Minimum 5 years of experience focused on employment law counseling and compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships and deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Experience drafting and advising on equity and deferred compensation plans for executive teams strongly preferred
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Comfort and enthusiasm for public speaking, training, and participating in firm marketing efforts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal department focusing on employment law
  • Familiarity with complex, multi-state compliance issues
  • A strong network or interest in building your own book of business over time

Salary range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000 and is commensurate with experience. Benefits are available and employees can select Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Supplemental Life and AD&D, Flexible Spending and HSA Options, and Retirement Benefits (with employer contribution).
